About the Role

The Town of Sahuarita is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Human Resources Technician to support the Human Resources division. This position provides administrative and technical support in various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, records management, and benefits administration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment processes, including posting job openings, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating hiring activities.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Process new hire paperwork, conduct orientations, and facilitate onboarding procedures.
  • Provide support in benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Assist with HR-related reporting, data entry, and record-keeping using HRIS and other software systems.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Coordinate and track employee training and development programs.
  • Assist with the preparation of HR-related documents, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in human resources, administrative support, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with HRIS or payroll systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Experience in a municipal or government HR environment is a plus.
