Safety Team Member

Base pay rate: $23/hour.

About the role

The Safety Team Member will conduct visual observations throughout the Clinic and maintain operational health and safety standards set by Clinic Operations. They will promote social distancing best practices among patients and team members, and are responsible for the safety and security of patients, employees, and visitors of the clinic buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
• Responds to emergency code calls and completes incident reports on each code.
• Conducts scheduled routine inspections of buildings, parking lots, grounds, and property to ensure all fire and safety policies and regulations are followed.
• Enforces parking regulations and is present in the parking lots during scheduled shifts.
• Maintains patient waiting areas, including the parking lot, to ensure cleanliness.
• Promotes use of sanitizer stations and ensures they are fully serviceable and regularly filled; signage is posted and cleaned.
• Rotates throughout the property to ensure high visibility.
• Works with the Department of Public Safety to ensure patients follow social distancing and face mask policies, and assists in enforcement.
• Assists in providing information to patients regarding safety procedures.
• Responds to individuals displaying unusual, suspicious, or aggressive behavior firmly but courteously, using conflict resolution skills to deescalate situations.
• Ensures security of medications, patient records, and other documentation required by regulatory agencies.
• Protects patient rights and confidentiality while providing required medical and clinical care.
• Manages crowd control within procedural guidelines and when the clinic is at capacity.
• Transports patients with a company vehicle to and from the clinic when needed.
• Assists with coverage for medication delivery routes for active patients.
• Receives packages, obtains mail from the mailbox and Post Office.
• Performs periodic observation of lab UA processes.
• Conducts routine security surveillance and retrieves surveillance recordings during incidents for authorized staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
• Complies with HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Interacts with all staff in a positive and motivational fashion supporting the company’s mission and Best Practice Patient Experience.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• First Aid and CPR/AED Certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Experience operating a two-way radio preferred.
• Obtain and maintain a Level 3 Kalispel Tribe of Indians Work Permit.
• Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Skills

• Ability to sit or drive for a minimum of an eight-hour workday.
• Ability to lift and carry 10-50 pounds.
• Ability to stand at events for a minimum of 4 hours at a time.
• Ability to carry out foot patrols.
• Quick thinker and reactive, able to show initiative.
• Ability to read and understand departmental policies, rules, and regulations.
• Understands oral and written instructions and can explain them to others.
• Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Basic knowledge of computers and programs including MS Office, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
