Safety Specialist - New Castle, PA
About the role
The Safety Specialist will participate in facility safety and environmental meetings, including Safety Committee meetings, Accident Investigations, and TPM and Kaizen events. Conduct assessments of current processes to identify or target problem areas, develop JSA's, and implement process improvements. Train affected employees on OSHA and EPA requirements and changes. Gather statistical information and present findings to Plant Management and others. Work with engineers or vendors during new equipment installations to ensure safety and environmental features are in place. Document improvements using lean tools like WEI's and complete required audits and reports. Ensure new process improvements are implemented and followed, and coordinate management and shipments of hazardous materials. Coordinate TPM and Kaizen events.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree relating to Occupational Safety, Environmental Management or similar field
- Certification in Environmental Compliance (CECM) or related experience
- Experience in Manufacturing and Safety
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify hazards
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to design and implement effective training programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
