Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain company safety programs that meet OSHA, MSHA, and industry standards.
- Conduct jobsite safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Cook up and deliver employee safety training and onboarding for new hires.
- Monitor field operations and proactively identify potential hazards.
- Aid project teams with incident investigations and corrective action plans.
- Maintain employee training records and compliance documentation.
- Evaluate PPE needs and manage safety equipment inventory.
- Partner with project leadership to promote safe work practices and continuous improvement.
- Conduct health sampling and recommend appropriate workplace controls when necessary.
- Aid in the development of company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support the Safety Manager and provide leadership in their absence.
Qualifications
- Experience in a construction safety role, preferably within heavy civil, grading, earthwork, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations.
- Experience conducting safety training and field inspections.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other technology used for reporting and recordkeeping.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with field and office teams.
