About the Role

DEPCOM Power is seeking Safety Specialists for various U.S. locations with 95% travel. This role is crucial for cultivating an Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) culture characterized by collaboration and active participation in safety standards among all employees. You will have the opportunity to start a career in safety by learning OSHA rules and regulations, State and local laws, and Company policies.

These positions will be located at construction sites in Aylett, VA and Charlotte Court House, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with facilitating Safety & Health training for employees, contractors, etc., as required.
  • Support the planning and implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA and DOT.
  • Maintain knowledge of all internal Koch/DEPCOM EHS Standards and relevant state and federal environmental laws.
  • Aid in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and determining corrective actions to prevent recurrence; make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions.
  • Foster an EHS environment of collaboration and active participation with all employees.
  • Conduct walk-through inspections of field job sites to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and unsafe acts.
  • Assist with managing site risks, including facilitating risk assessments, job safety analyses (JHA), and PPE assessments.
  • Provide appropriate care and support for onsite injuries within standard of care.

Requirements

One of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety (EHS).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience on a project in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional and completion of the OSHA 500 Training course.
  • CHST designation with a minimum of 4 years in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional.

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience with site safety.
  • State Certification for EMT or Paramedic or National EMT certification (NREMT).

Pay

We anticipate paying $35 - $45 per hour. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. Compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
