Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental and safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular environmental and safety audits to assess compliance and identify potential hazards.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on environmental policies, safety practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage hazardous materials and waste programs, including storage, disposal, and documentation.
- Investigate workplace accidents or environmental incidents and implement corrective measures.
- Coordinate with management and cross-functional departments to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Stay current with environmental and safety legislation and advise the company on necessary actions.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit safety and environmental reports to relevant authorities.
Essential Skills
- 0-2 years of experience in environmental health and safety management.
- Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) laws and regulations.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and enforce safety standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for employee training and coaching.
- Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques.
- Proficiency with EHS-related software and reporting tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
- OSHA Certifications such as OSHA 30.
- Construction Safety and Manufacturing Experience.
Work Environment
This role is based at 7800 Pulaski Pike, Toney, AL, on a first shift with the potential for overtime. The position is temporary with the possibility of becoming permanent. The work environment emphasizes a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, utilizing EHS-related software and tools.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $29.00/hr.
