Safety Specialist
About the role
The Safety Specialist will play a crucial role in cultivating an EH&S environment characterized by collaboration and active participation in our safety standards among all employees. This role is essential for embedding a culture of safety, ensuring that everyone is engaged and committed to maintaining the highest safety standards in all our operations.
Responsibilities
- Aid incident investigations, root cause analysis, and determining corrective actions to prevent incident recurrence and makes recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
- Foster an EHS environment of collaboration and active participation with all employees.
- Conduct walk-through inspections of field job sites to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and unsafe acts performed by employees.
- Aid in the management of site risks including facilitating risk assessments, job safety analyses, JHA reviews, and PPE assessments.
- Provide appropriate care and support for onsite injuries within standard of care.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience on a project in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional
- OSHA 30 construction
- First aid and AED certification
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in safety (EH&S)
- Completion of OSHA 510 training course
- Completion of OSHA 500 training course
- CHST certification
SkillsKnowledgeable and current on all internal Koch/DEPCOM EHS Standards and relevant state and federal environmental law
