Safety Specialist

About the role
This position is located at a construction site in Rosebud, TX, with 95% travel required. The Safety Specialist will cultivate an EH&S environment characterized by collaboration and active participation in safety standards among all employees. This role is essential for embedding a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with the highest safety standards in all operations. Responsibilities
- Assist with facilitating Safety & Health training for employees, contractors, and others as required.
- Support the planning and implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA and DOT.
- Maintain knowledge and currency on all internal Koch/DEPCOM EHS Standards and relevant state and federal environmental laws.
- Aid in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and determining corrective actions to prevent recurrence; make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions.
- Foster an EHS environment of collaboration and active participation with all employees.
- Conduct walk-through inspections of field job sites to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and unsafe acts.
- Assist with managing site risks, including facilitating risk assessments, job safety analyses (JHA), and PPE assessments.
- Provide appropriate care and support for onsite injuries within the standard of care.
Requirements
- Experience in field safety, with involvement in site safety programs, hazard assessments, and incident response.
- OSHA 30 construction certification.
- First aid and AED certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
The following qualifications will put you ahead:
- Prior safety experience working in solar PV or BESS construction sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety (EH&S).
- Completion of OSHA 510 and OSHA 500 training courses.
- CHST certification.

Compensation is determined by available market data, considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. The range provided is an estimate and may be higher or lower.
