Safety, Security & Transportation Manager

About the role

Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, train for meaningful careers, and assist them with obtaining employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Safety, Security and Transportation department to provide maximum safety and security for students, staff, center property and the surrounding community.
• Evaluate staff performance and provide staff training and implement departmental personnel changes as approved by the Center Director.
• Develop and monitor staff schedules for 24-hour, 7 day a week coverage.
• Develop and maintain Center Safety Plan, and Emergency and Disaster Plan (and weather-related Evacuation Plan) and conduct the yearly risk assessment survey.
• Establishes and communicates safety, security, and fire prevention policies with pertinent center and DOL regulations to students and staff.
• Serves as the center’s representative and maintains effective liaison with law enforcement agencies in the community.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA Standards by monitoring all center facilities.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, police science or related field preferred.
• Three to five years’ work-related experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
