Safety Manager - Sabey Data Centers

Sabey Corporation is recruiting a Safety Manager, East to join their team in Ashburn, VA. The Safety Manager, East serves as a trusted partner in advancing Sabey’s commitment to a world-class safety culture across the organization and its affiliates, reporting to the Safety Director.
Based in Ashburn, Virginia, you will help drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs, policies, and training while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with operations, Human Resources, leadership teams, and the Safety Advisory Committee to reduce risk, strengthen employee engagement, and promote an illness- and injury-free workplace.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Safety Director to develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide safety policies, programs, and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as internal company standards.
- Conduct hazard assessments, safety audits, and site inspections while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs, including First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, hazardous materials handling, and other role-specific training.
- Support employee safety awareness through onboarding, newsletters, social media, training materials, and ongoing communications.
- Serve as a trusted safety resource for employees by providing guidance, training materials, and technical expertise.
- Partner with Human Resources to administer the Workers’ Compensation program, including accident prevention, case management, return-to-work initiatives, and cost reduction efforts.
- Lead thorough accident investigations, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and communicate lessons learned across the organization.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and accident trends to develop proactive risk reduction strategies.
- Coordinate and monitor required safety meetings, emergency drills, inspections, OSHA reporting, and regulatory postings.
- Prepare regular reports for the Safety Director highlighting program successes, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
- Stay current on emerging safety regulations, industry best practices, and evolving technologies that support workplace safety.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Safety, or a related field.
- Five or more years of experience in risk management, industrial safety and health, safety engineering, and/or safety management within a relevant industry.
- Working knowledge of health, safety, environmental management practices, OSHA regulations, and Workers’ Compensation requirements.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, ARM, or CHST are preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex safety regulations and respond effectively to sensitive situations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and leveraging emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
- Ability to travel several times per year.

Pay
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $95,335 - $143,003. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
