About the role

AECOM Hunt has an opportunity for an experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team in Dallas, TX. Under minimal supervision, this role manages, develops, and implements Environmental Safety & Health (ES&H) programs. The Safety Supervisor supervises Environmental Safety and Health Specialists assigned to the same project(s), performs work requiring broad expertise and excellent communication skills, and collaborates closely with subcontractors, owners, and team members to foster a culture of safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop, and implement ES&H programs.
• Supervise Environmental Safety and Health Specialists on assigned projects.
• Work closely with subcontractors, owners, and team members to ensure a culture of safety.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
• Perform duties requiring broad expertise and strong communication skills.
• Additional duties may be assigned based on project scope and progress.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Occupational Safety or relevant curriculum and 6 years of demonstrated experience in construction safety, or
• AA/AS and 8 years of relevant experience, or
• High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of relevant experience, or
• Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification.
• 6+ years of construction safety experience.
• Experience with Owner-Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) and Contractor-Controlled Insurance Programs (CCIP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Demands

The following physical demands are typical for individuals in construction field roles, with or without accommodation:

• Physical stamina and mobility, including climbing ladders and stairs, using personnel hoists, and navigating active construction zones.
• Vision requirements: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Capability to use hands for handling tools and materials.
• Activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Work Environment

Individuals in construction field roles primarily work on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job-related hazards is common, with or without accommodation. Work environments may include:

• Proximity to heavy machinery and elevated work areas.
• Exposure to airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks.
• Moderate to high noise levels depending on the construction phase.
• Requirement to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain alertness for safety.

• This position is on-site and not hybrid or remote.
• Motor Vehicle Records may be reviewed for positions with driving responsibilities as part of the background check.

Pay

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $85,675 to $158,497 annually.
