About the role

The EHS Supervisor leads the EHS technicians in implementing SpaceX’s Environmental Health & Safety programs. In addition to supervisory duties, the role performs the same hands-on tasks as the technicians, setting the standard for all EHS-related work and ensuring overall compliance, success, and well-being of the team and program.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day and long-term activities and priorities of the EHS technician team
  • Ensure a collaborative relationship with technicians and other EHS/SpaceX teams
  • Coordinate employee schedules, work assignments, and timekeeping requirements
  • Provide instructional guidance on job assignments, correct procedures, and applicable techniques; ensure accuracy and completion
  • Coordinate with site leadership to ensure appropriate EHS team involvement in department development, modification plans, and procedure development
  • Ensure technicians complete all required tasks thoroughly and on time
  • Document all performance and compliance issues with technicians
  • Implement and maintain site-specific EHS team policies
  • Allocate resources appropriately
  • Oversee and ensure technicians complete required EHS inspections via daily communication
  • Develop and maintain relationships with EHS vendors
  • Ensure hazards encountered by the technician team are appropriately addressed, including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) assessments
  • Perform tasks and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and regulatory agencies

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 4+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health, and safety disciplines
  • This is not a remote or hybrid position; relocation to Memphis, TN is required if not already local
  • Occasional extended hours and weekends may be required
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), Refugee under 8 U.S.C.1157, Asylee under 8 U.S.C.1158, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State (ITAR requirements)

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience implementing or developing EHS plans and policies
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with emergency response crews in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil, and water
  • Demonstrated success with hands-on work and attention to detail in academic or career pursuits
  • Ability to work in a construction or industrial environment
  • Strong communication skills with technicians and engineers
  • Ability to multitask, manage shifting priorities, and follow through on projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
