Safety Engineer I & II - Wind
SUMMARY
Mortenson is seeking a Safety Engineer I & II to implement and administer safety programs at wind projects, ensuring a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and administer safety program at each worksite
- Conduct safety orientation/training, document and track safety violations, conduct safety audits, analyze safety data, assist with major incident analysis, manage OSHA reporting
- Review safety submittals, monitor trade partner work plans, assist with onsite injury management, organize safety celebrations, participate in project planning/hazard analysis
- Provide safety-related information, evaluate industrial hygiene concerns, maintain knowledge of safety standards/regulations, serve as safety resource, attend/chair safety meetings
- Collaborate with client safety personnel, union representatives, insurance risk engineers, accompany safety/health/OSHA personnel on tours, ensure maintenance of safety equipment, manage PPE and safety budget
- Build effective relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum qualifications for Safety Engineer I: Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in occupational safety, health, or related field preferred OR high school diploma with CHST or STS certification, OSHA 30 Hour training, and minimum five years of construction experience
- Minimum qualifications for Safety Engineer II: One year of related experience
- Detail-oriented, able to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety-related software programs
- Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate company policies
- Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Effective public speaking and presentation skills
- Effective communication and active listening skills, openness to diverse input and feedback, ability to travel up to 100%

COMPENSATION
- Base pay range for Safety Engineer I: $78,800 - $98,500
- Base pay range for Safety Engineer II: $81,800- $110,400
