SUMMARY
Mortenson is seeking a Safety Engineer II who can interact with various staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, maintaining flexibility, resourcefulness, and professionalism while ensuring a safe work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and administer safety programs at each worksite
- Aid project management in developing and executing site-specific safety programs and activities
- Attend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programs
- Document and track safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.
- Conduct work area safety audits
- Collect and analyze leading and trailing indicator data
- Conduct or assist with major incident analysis
- Record, monitor, and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statistics
- Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or related field; or
- High school diploma, STS/CHST Certification, OSHA 30 Hour Training, and at least seven years of continuous construction experience leading crews and planning work, including at least five years with safety program responsibilities
- Minimum of one year of related experience
- Detail-oriented with organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant safety software
- Positive attitude with strong customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate company policies
- Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Effective public speaking and presentation skills
- Current driver’s license
- Ability to travel up to 100%

PAY
The base pay range for this role is $81,000 MIN - $110,400 MAX. (Higher ranges apply to Denver, CO, Chicago, IL, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR.)
