Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

• Advise site management regarding site wide regulatory compliance and implementation of industry best practices as they relate to all workers and process safety issues.
• Facilitate guidance for contractors and supports the site employee safety team.
• Affords assistance with emergency preparedness and responses.
• Coordinates with site security and contract workforce with preparedness tactics for risks and liabilities associated with emergencies and Homeland Security.
• Maintains industrial hygiene programs, organizes site and employee monitoring.
• Maintains the plant SHE assets and protective systems integrity and delivers established SHE goals set by the business.
• Performs inspections in assigned work areas, generates reports regarding findings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
• Experience with VPP (Voluntary Protection Program).
• Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and practices.
• Ability to inspect work areas and generate reports.
• Proficiency in computer-based training methods and software.
• Ability to interact with various community and government agencies.
• Ability to lead special projects and initiatives.

Pay

• $80,000 - $100,000 annually.
