Responsibilities
- Advise site management regarding site wide regulatory compliance and implementation of industry best practices as they relate to all workers and process safety issues.
- Facilitate guidance for contractors and supports the site employee safety team.
- Affords assistance with emergency preparedness and responses.
- Coordinates with site security and contract workforce with preparedness tactics for risks and liabilities associated with emergencies and Homeland Security.
- Maintains industrial hygiene programs, organizes site and employee monitoring.
- Maintains the plant SHE assets and protective systems integrity and delivers established SHE goals set by the business.
- Performs inspections in assigned work areas, generating reports on findings.
- Supports PSM and Environmental efforts including Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), Management of Change process, Risk Assessments, Design Safety Reviews, and incident investigations.
- Develops, implements and maintains IH content within training programs.
- Develops, evaluates and provides medical with accurate work task analysis for each position.
- Manages safety programs such as SME for new chemical approvals.
- Participates in emergency responses, security threats or severe weather occurrences.
- Develops and advises site management regarding preparedness tactics for risks and liabilities associated with major emergencies.
- Coordinators to develop and manage programs to ensure sites meet specific legal requirements and standards pertinent to emergency response and security.
- Plan, develop, implement, and maintain programs, policies and procedures to ensure effective site emergency readiness.
- Develops and presents TAR training information in support of SHE and Security.
- Increase ownership, reliability, organization and optics of departmental assets.
- Ensures non-emergency preventive and corrective maintenance work is performed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
- Experience with emergency response and preparedness.
- Proven ability to develop and implement safety and health programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
