Safety Coordinator – Aviation – Washington D.C.*
About the role
The Safety Coordinator supports project safety efforts by monitoring daily construction activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. This role assists in conducting site inspections, documenting safety observations, and supporting incident prevention efforts across active job sites. The Safety Coordinator works closely with project teams and contractors to promote a safe work environment and ensure adherence to OSHA, MWAA, and project-specific safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily safety walkthroughs
- Assist with inspections, training, and toolbox talks
- Support AOA access and compliance requirements
- Maintain safety logs and reports
- Monitor contractor safety compliance
- Assist with emergency response coordination
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred
- 3 to 7 years of field safety experience in construction or aviation
- Knowledge of OSHA standards
- Strong communication and documentation skills
