UAS Pilot and Safety Coordinator

About the role

The Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership (MAAP) is seeking a UAS Pilot Coordinator to support flight operations and counter unmanned aerial systems (UAS) research and testing. The position requires both uncrewed aircraft pilot experience and experience operating counter UAS systems. Candidates must be US citizens and meet the physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support a diverse array of tasks related to UAS research
• Take on and execute a broad set of tasks independently
• Interact with internal and external Test Site users and partners
• Exercise sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Manage UAS field operations in diverse field environments
• Lift, carry, move, load/unload equipment and field supplies of up to 25 pounds
• Drive a government vehicle safely
• Work outside in environmental conditions for up to 10 hours
• Walk minimum 2 miles and traverse uneven terrain
• Manipulate UAS equipment and parts

Requirements

• Experience with piloting autonomous and/or uncrewed aircraft
• Good communication skills
• Ability to lift, carry, move, load/unload equipment and field supplies of up to 25 pounds
• A safe driving record to drive a government vehicle
• Ability to work outside in environmental conditions for up to 10 hours
• Ability to walk minimum 2 miles and traverse uneven terrain

Qualifications

• C-UAS experience preferred
• FAA Part 107 certification preferred
• FAA Certified Flight Instructor or Ground Instructor preferred
• Proficient RC flying skills preferred

Pay

$63,708 - $79,635; commensurate with experience

Exempt: Not eligible for overtime
