Safety Coordinator

About the role

E2 Optics is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the execution, compliance, and enhancement of internal and external safety programs. This role drives a behavior-based safety culture to prevent accidents and mitigate losses at customer locations. Key responsibilities include providing safety training, assisting with incident investigations, conducting audits, and addressing recurring safety issues.

Responsibilities

• Supports execution, compliance, and enhancement of internal and external safety programs
• Drives behavior-based safety culture to achieve accident-prevention and loss mitigation
• Provides safety and health training, instruction, and coaching to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations
• Aids the Safety Manager in incident/accident investigations, subsequent documentation, problem-solving, and implementation of countermeasures
• Conducts and/or participates in Safety audits to review practices and records for compliance with relevant H&S programs and OSHA regulations
• Tracks, trends, and drives structured problem-solving for recurring safety issues that impact performance targets
• Works minimal overnight travel (5%)

Requirements

• High school diploma required, Associate’s Degree preferred
• 2-3 years Occupational Health and/or Safety experience in a construction environment
• OSHA 30 certification
• Ability to positively influence and encourage others
• High attention to detail
• Willingness to work days, nights, and weekends as required
• Self-motivated and excellent work ethic

Qualifications

• Ability to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs if required
• Physical ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally stoop or kneel
• Ability to work in tight and confined spaces
