Safety Coordinator

About the role

This role involves assisting in compliance reviews, conducting general risk assessments, leading incident investigations, performing root cause analyses, and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management. The Safety Coordinator also maintains relevant HSE logs and documentation in compliance with company procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, and prepares reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist in compliance reviews and risk assessments
• Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses
• Maintain HSE logs and documentation
• Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to facility management
• Administer, maintain, and train on HSE programs such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, etc.
• Observe and model a safe culture while adhering to all safety requirements
• Proactively work with leaders and employees to promote a Safety-First culture

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• More than five (5+) years of related experience
• Prior Associate Degree in Occupational, Health & Safety sciences or two (2) years' experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety position is preferred but not required
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Technical writing experience is preferred but not required

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or other U.S. person status is required
