Primary Purpose
Aid in the administration of plant environmental, health, and safety policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and meet or exceed established goals.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the training of plant safety practices and document as directed to create a safe working environment.
- File Worker’s Compensation claims as needed and maintain document files.
- Accompany employees on initial physician visits and/or drug screens as needed, and attend follow-up visits.
- Work with the Safety Manager on various projects and initiatives.
- Assist in conducting ongoing safety inspections and audits of facilities, operations, and equipment to ensure a safe working environment for all AWC employees.
- Maintain SDS Programs.
- Participate on assigned teams and/or projects.
- Model CITE and Working in Teams principles.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Safety Manager.
Qualifications
- Experience in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Good personal computer skills; Microsoft products experience preferred (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and understand PHI.
- Must have experience in working in a team environment to meet/exceed goals.
- Strong planning/organization and time management skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- CPR and First Aid certified preferred.
