About the role

Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is seeking a gastroenterologist to serve as Clinical Director of Gastroenterology and oversee the clinical operations of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Responsibilities

• Managing our gastroenterologists’ clinical performance and activities, overseeing clinical staff, developing and implementing clinical strategies, and improving patient outcomes through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Interfacing regularly with other key GI, Department of Medicine, and hospital leadership to ensure the vision and strategic goals of the Division are fulfilled.
• Fostering clinical research and educational initiatives, ensuring adherence to best practices and evidence-based protocols, and having the opportunity to develop and expand their own clinical research interests.
• Having an active gastroenterology practice, participating in gastroenterology fellowship education, and focusing in an area of their clinical interest while contributing to the overall academic mission of the Division.

Requirements

• Candidates must be board-certified gastroenterologists with leadership experience in academic or clinical settings.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing clinical operations and staff.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Active participation in clinical research and educational initiatives.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of evidence-based medicine and clinical guidelines.
