About the Role

Direct responsibility for the daily operations of assigned department(s), including but not limited to: overseeing daily practice operations, recruitment, retention, adherence to policies and procedures, support of ongoing education of staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and fiscal responsibility of the unit/department.

  • Directs and coordinates effective operations of the unit/department with 24/7 responsibility to ensure continuity of care and oversight of other management functions.
  • Directs and coordinates quality efforts of the unit/department to align with organizational goals. Ensures delivery of quality patient care and interdepartmental collaboration of best practices.
  • Responsible for overseeing the departmental budget to ensure financial accountability for cost-effective/efficient provision of care.
  • Responsible for supporting a healthy work environment which engages staff and supports professional growth and development.
  • Facilitates ongoing education and ensures clinical competency of nursing personnel adherence to nursing policies.
  • Responsible for interviewing and onboarding clinical staff.
  • Responsible for coordinating with the AVP of Nursing Operations for clinical departmental needs according to administrative and patient care guidelines.
  • Ensures patient data and medical records are maintained in a confidential manner.

The Mt. Laurel and Willingboro locations are only outpatient units, whereas the Special Test Unit (STU), located on the sixth floor in the main hospital, is an outpatient and inpatient unit. All are run by the hospital largely to serve diagnostic and therapeutic needs of the Gastroenterology Division. The most common gastroenterology procedures are upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. In the pulmonary suite (STU only), endoscopy of the airway procedures is performed, commonly called bronchoscopy. All units are staffed by surgical schedulers, patient service representatives, nurses, and GI technicians. Anesthesiology is present for all GI procedures. Nurses rotate between the admission (Pre op), procedure suites, recovery (PACU), and pre-admission testing. They must be familiar with all roles and procedures in the GI Unit.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience.
  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM; flexible.
