Rust Software Developer

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement new mission-focused capabilities using Rust to enhance performance, resilience, and operational speed.
• Design and deploy containerized services with Kubernetes.
• Implement autoscaling strategies such as HPA, VPA, and cluster autoscalers to enable systems that scale horizontally within seconds.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve program goals in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with software engineering using Rust.
• Experience designing architecture and containerized services with Kubernetes.
• Experience with autoscaling strategies such as HPA or VPA, cluster autoscalers, and designing systems that scale horizontally within seconds.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Experience with Python or C++.
• Ability to effectively communicate, work independently and collaboratively on a cross-functional team, and demonstrate initiative to complete complex tasks.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Experience with code quality and static analysis tools, such as SonarQube, Clippy, cargo-deny, or cargo-audit.
• Experience with secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation.
• Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML), DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
• Personal or professional GitHub profile demonstrating Rust projects.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• Master’s degree.

Pay

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).

Work models include:

• Remote: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as required by the role.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
