Rust Software Developer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Rust-based software solutions for complex, mission-critical challenges.
• Architect containerized services using Kubernetes.
• Develop and optimize systems with autoscaling strategies (HPA, VPA, cluster autoscalers) for horizontal scalability within seconds.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve program goals in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with software engineering using Rust.
• Experience designing architecture and containerized services with Kubernetes.
• Experience with autoscaling strategies such as HPA, VPA, cluster autoscalers, and designing horizontally scalable systems.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Experience with Python or C++.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work independently and collaboratively, and demonstrate initiative.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Nice to Have

• Experience with code quality and static analysis tools (e.g., SonarQube, Clippy, cargo-deny, cargo-audit).
• Experience with secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation.
• Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML), DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
• Personal or professional GitHub profile demonstrating Rust projects.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• Master’s degree.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Work model expectations:

• Remote: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
