Senior Software Developer, Rust

For our client, a leader in the Enterprise Technology space, we are seeking a Senior Software Developer with expertise in Rust to join their team. This role focuses on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence, working across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities in a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-correctness Rust services on critical platform paths
• Introduce Rust into performance-critical areas
• Own the architecture, implementation, rollout, and operations of systems
• Make decisions regarding concurrency, async boundaries, and data integrity
• Collaborate with product, design, and frontend engineers for optimal system integration
• Enhance reliability and observability through thoughtful design
• Mentor engineers and elevate system quality and ownership

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience with distributed systems in production
• Deep, hands-on experience with Rust, beyond just side projects
• Comfortable with concurrency, async systems, and correctness guarantees
• Experience in designing APIs and evolving data contracts safely
• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases at scale
• Experience deploying services in AWS or GCP
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and make tradeoffs clear

Pay

$120,000 – $150,000 annually
