Rust Software Developer

Responsibilities
- Design and implement Rust-based software solutions for complex, mission-critical challenges
- Architect containerized services using Kubernetes
- Develop and optimize autoscaling strategies (HPA, VPA, cluster autoscalers) for systems that scale horizontally within seconds
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve program goals in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with software engineering using Rust
- Experience designing architecture and containerized services with Kubernetes
- Experience with autoscaling strategies such as HPA, VPA, cluster autoscalers, and designing horizontally scalable systems
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins)
- Proficiency in Python or C++
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on cross-functional teams
- Strong communication skills and initiative to complete complex tasks
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
Nice to have
- Experience with code quality and static analysis tools (SonarQube, Clippy, cargo-deny, cargo-audit)
- Experience with secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation
- Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML), DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
- Personal or professional GitHub profile demonstrating Rust projects
- TS/SCI clearance
- Master’s degree

Pay
Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).

Work model expectations:
- Remote: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.
For virtual work, employees are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
