About the Role
Maintains facility in a clean and orderly manner.
Responsibilities
- Operates forklift as needed to move non-production items.
- Maintains break and rest room areas in clean and sanitary condition.
- Empties cardboard container and binds them with binding machine.
- Cleans shop hallways with automated floor sweeper and by hand when necessary.
- Cleans all office spaces.
- Restocks all hand towel, air deodorizer, toilet paper, and hand soap dispensers.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school education preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Attendance is an essential job requirement: regular, consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance, including working overtime before and after shifts and on weekends as required by union contract.
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Janitorial experience: 1 year (required).
- Day shift availability (required).
- Ability to relocate to Parsons, KS 67357 before starting work (preferred).
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
