About the role

The Aviation Quality Assurance Technical Inspector supports the US Army Flight Test Directorate (AFTD) at Redstone Arsenal, AL. Support includes completing maintenance test flights, fault isolation, and troubleshooting, ensuring compliance with Yulista Quality Management System (QMS) processes and technical data.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full on-site maintenance flight/functional Check Flight Operations
  • Complete all maintenance test flights on AFTD aircraft
  • Isolate and troubleshoot faults
  • Manage internal contractor pilot and non-rated crewmember flight records
  • Implement quality control and safety plans
  • Inspect all phases of goods, services, or operations for conformity to established quality, health, and safety standards
  • Communicate deficiencies to proper personnel and follow up on corrections
  • Accurately key data into databases
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff
  • Perform basic mathematical computations
  • Maintain accurate quality control files
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections
  • May require other related duties to meet ongoing organizational needs

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ Army Aviation maintenance experience
  • Completed a military aircraft repairer school of H-60L/M
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ Army Aviation maintenance quality control experience
  • At least 2 years of experience related to developmental flight testing
  • FAA A&P License required
  • Verifiable experience applying aircraft maintenance techniques and quality control functions to include automated TAMMS-A
  • Thorough knowledge of Army rotary wing and commercial aviation maintenance practices and regulations
  • Working knowledge of ACN, including associated historical forms
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Suite and learn additional computer skills/software programs

Desired Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in management, production management, aviation maintenance, professional aeronautics with technical specializations, or aviation quality
  • Experience applying aircraft maintenance techniques and quality control functions to include automated TAMMS-A
  • Thorough knowledge of Army rotary wing and commercial aviation maintenance practices and regulations
  • Working knowledge of ACN, including associated historical forms
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Suite and learn additional computer skills/software programs
