About the role

In accordance with the state of Massachusetts Board of Respiratory Care Limited License (261 CMR section 3.07), the respiratory therapy assistants may perform some functions (particularly with equipment preparations) normally performed by a registered respiratory therapist (RRT) or certified respiratory therapist (CRT).

Responsibilities

  • Staff training
  • Cleaning & organizing of respiratory therapy equipment
  • Picking up and transporting dirty equipment
  • Maintaining the respiratory therapy equipment storage room
  • Assisting in instruction of patients and/or family members in respiratory techniques and the use of respiratory equipment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • BLS Preferred, Limited Student License
  • Experience with Hospital/Medical Equipment

Qualifications

  • Ability to reprocess equipment in a timely manner and communicate effectively with charge respiratory therapists
  • Proven track record of taking the initiative and contributing to the department, the hospital and the practice
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
  • Practice and commitment to patient and staff safety

Pay

Pay Range $20.00 - $20.00 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
