About the Role

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Inpatient Mental Health, ER Mental Health Triage, the Medication Clinic, and Spiritual Care, the successful applicant will provide comprehensive nursing care in the ER Mental Health Program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care within the ER Mental Health Program.
• Demonstrate clinical competence and commitment to quality patient care.
• Apply excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Utilize working knowledge of the Transtheoretical Model.
• Provide integrated service to individuals with Concurrent Disorders.
• Work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and within a Primary Care with Affiliates Model of Care.
• Perform excellent patient assessments and patient education.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuing education.
• Function within full scope of practice as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).
• Work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Identify, report, and mitigate unsafe acts or conditions to ensure patient, worker, and workplace safety.

Requirements

• Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current B.C.L.S. Certificate.
• Nonviolent crisis intervention certificate (required to obtain during orientation).
• CBT & Interpersonal Theory training (preferred).
• Current (2 years) experience in Mental Health Nursing.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Reliable individual able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
