About the Role
This position serves as a Teller and Financial Services Representative, responsible for assisting customers with account management, transactions, and inquiries at branch locations in the Eastern Idaho area.
Responsibilities
- Represents the Bank in a courteous and professional manner.
- Receives deposits and loan payments in person or by mail.
- Processes cash advances, gift/travel cards, cashiers’ checks, government bonds, and similar transactions.
- Disburses cash for checks/withdrawals and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
- Processes transfers and assigned cash transactions, balancing at the end of the day.
- Verifies transactions, monitors deposit amounts, examines documents for proper endorsement and negotiability, and resolves discrepancies promptly.
- Maintains security of assigned work area, including managing cash in teller drawers and locking drawers when leaving.
- Places holds on uncollected funds in accordance with established policy.
- Ensures customers' requests and questions are promptly resolved.
- Operates online teller terminal and provides account status information to customers in person, by telephone, or by mail.
- Performs drive-up teller and night drop functions as assigned.
- Opens and closes accounts by obtaining customer information and entering it into the computer system.
- Compiles, researches, and implements new policies, programs, procedures, and services related to branch operations.
- Provides technical support and training for new accounts and teller software programs.
- Assists with IRA and HSA branch support, verifications, training, and audits.
- Renews and updates certificate accounts, contacts customers with maturing certificates of deposit, and notifies them of promotional offers.
- Performs file maintenance and account changes, such as address updates, and stays current on pending documentation.
- Participates in branch openings and reviews, monitors, and creates reports.
- Maintains privacy of customer account information.
- Directs calls to the appropriate person/department and records/relays messages as needed.
- Assists other personnel as required and keeps management informed of area activities and significant problems.
- Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
- Cross-sells bank services by maintaining knowledge of all bank products.
- Keeps work area and equipment clean, secure, and well-maintained.
- Completes special projects as assigned and attends meetings as required.
- Maintains the professional reputation of D.L. Evans Bank and promotes it at all times.
- Serves as a community representative for D.L. Evans Bank.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Banking experience preferred.
- Basic cash handling skills/experience preferred.
- Knowledge of bank operations policies and procedures preferred.
- Able to operate related computer applications and business equipment, including adding machines, typewriters, copy machines, coin and money counting machines, telephones, scanners, and branch capture machines.
- Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
- Good communication, typing, and math skills.
