About the role

The Roving Senior International HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays a pivotal role in strengthening Oxfam GB’s global people support by delivering high-quality strategic and operational HR partnership to country programs. This role ensures that Oxfam’s HR standards, policies, and practices are consistently applied across diverse and complex operating environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver complex, multi-country HR initiatives, collaborating with a network of International HRBPs to drive organizational effectiveness and support country leadership teams.
  • Provide expert, solutions-focused HR advice to senior managers and in-country HR staff, ensuring alignment with Oxfam’s strategy, safeguarding commitments, and local legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the delivery of complex, multi-country HR initiatives, collaborating with a network of International HRBPs to drive organizational effectiveness and support country leadership teams.
  • Work in close partnership with HR centers of expertise across Oxfam GB and Oxfam International, ensuring that country teams have access to specialist guidance on areas such as employee relations, reward, organizational development, and workforce planning.
  • Travel regularly to provide hands-on support, build capability, and strengthen HR systems and practices in country offices.

Requirements

  • MCIPD or equivalent HR qualification or commensurate level of demonstrable international HR experience.
  • Ability to prioritize/manage conflicting demands.
  • Flexible/adaptable to support working across different time zones/working weeks.
  • Experience managing performance of others and helping people to develop, grow and achieve their potential, including increasing diversity and inclusion in teams and/or workplaces.
  • Significant HR Business Partnership (HRBP) experience gained within a large international organization and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in contributing to medium-term strategic and operational business planning and delivering outcomes aligned to business strategy.
  • Analytical skills, including using data to inform decision-making, and being able to weigh up and take decisions when there are unknowns.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering complex change management projects.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering transition/country closure projects.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel at short notice (deployment periods up to 3 months).

Pay

£49,601-£55,744 if UK based, or in line with pay scale of country of work.

Schedule

36 hours per week if based in the UK, or full-time hours in the relevant country of work.
