About the Role

General Atomics (GA) and its affiliated companies are leaders in high-technology systems development, spanning the nuclear fuel cycle, remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless, and laser technologies. As an HR Business Partner, you will play a critical role in organizational and employee development, consulting with employees and managers to implement best practices in human resource management. You will address root causes of HR challenges, resolve organizational and employee relations issues, and contribute to first-of-its-kind business support programs to improve efficiency and morale. Additionally, you will assist senior managers in developing solutions to business problems through smart organizational design and cultural perspectives, while administering talent management and succession planning activities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic HR Business Partner to leaders and employees across multiple international regions, aligning people strategies with global business objectives.
  • Advise managers on employee relations matters, performance management, coaching, conflict resolution, and organizational change, considering cultural nuances and local employment practices.
  • Lead or contribute to global HR initiatives, including organizational transformations, policy development, change management, leadership development, and culture-building programs across multiple countries.
  • Facilitate talent development sessions on topics such as Performance Management and the Performance Review Process. Develop training on HR topics for client groups and support Leadership Development programs.
  • Maintain solid knowledge of Federal and State (CA) employment laws, as well as international employment practices and regulations. Advise business leaders and employees on these laws and apply them to resolve employee issues.
  • Build trust with leaders to diagnose root causes of performance concerns and conduct performance management conversations, advising on progressive documentation processes.
  • Partner with talent acquisition and business leaders to interview and select candidates for key roles, and conduct salary analyses to determine candidate offers while ensuring organizational equity.
  • Lead annual merit, bonus, and out-of-cycle compensation programs for assigned client groups, ensuring fair and consistent application and company equity.
  • Utilize exit interview data and other tools to identify trends and make recommendations to reduce turnover and improve employee engagement.
  • Use Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts) to analyze and present actionable data for HR and client business groups.
  • Collaborate effectively with international teams to address HR challenges in a global context.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training, or a related discipline, and ten or more years of progressive professional experience in a corporate Human Resources department.
  • May substitute a certificate in human resources from a recognized organization and equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting HR initiatives globally, across multiple countries or regions, ensuring compliance with international labor laws and implementing global HR programs.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to document, report, and present findings to senior management and external parties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including senior managers.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to initiate, plan, and manage projects.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts).
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, including extended hours and travel as required.

Pay

Salary range: $89,180 - $155,825
