Route Service Manager

The Route Service Manager delivers batteries and provides exceptional customer service to a predetermined route of customers and dealers, collaborates with dealers to ensure optimal battery mixes, executes quality programs, and builds strong relationships to improve dealer retention.

Responsibilities

• Deliver batteries and provide service to each dealer on your route safely and timely.
• Load and unload trucks safely while maintaining an accurate account of all company assets.
• Establish, build, and maintain dealer relationships.
• Keep displays and product clean, full, and rotated per consignment agreements.
• Manage dealer accounts, including sales, consignment, warranties, rotates, cash collection, and invoicing.
• Complete delivery/route transactions and other paperwork promptly.
• Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.
• Interact professionally with all stakeholders, including team members, managers, and customers.
• Follow and fulfill all driver program requirements as specified by the manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school graduate (or equivalent).
• Ability to read, write, and compute basic math.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Minimum one year of delivery and customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems.
• Working knowledge of electronic inventory management tools (tablets, scanners) required.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Sense of urgency in task completion.
• Willingness to work overtime if requested; may require one or more overnight routes per week depending on location.
• Clean driver’s record and meet driver qualification requirements.
• Valid DOT medical card.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and make frequent independent judgments.
• Integrity, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.

Work Environment

• Exposure to battery warehouse conditions, including moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Requirements for close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regular standing, walking, hearing, talking, and use of hands to grasp and handle objects.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lb without assistance; occasional lifting up to 75 lb.
• Repetitive lifting, consistent sitting, standing, and walking.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
• Exposure to road hazards when operating or riding in a vehicle.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
