Rough Commercial Carpenter | Tri-State Area, PA

About the Role

KLOVER, a commercial carpentry subcontractor and manufacturer of prefabricated wall panel systems, is seeking a Rough Commercial Carpenter to join our team. Founded in 1991, we aim to reinvent the way construction is done, requiring trade professionals with uncommon capabilities. This role involves building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, and other items using materials like wood and steel, ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Accurately measure height, width, length, and other proportions
• Perform basic material take-off to ensure proper material selection and quantity
• Layout work to be put in place
• Move building materials to the proper workspace
• Work with materials such as wood, metal, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall
• Utilize appropriate tools to build or repair structural components
• Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
• Ensure everything is level and secure using levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and lasers
• Work with light-gauge and load-bearing steel framing for interior partitions, soffits, exterior framing, and curtain wall construction
• Build and/or install windows, roof systems, stairs, and blocking
• Cut, hang, and install drywall with minimum waste
• Install ceiling grid systems (standard, slotted, and specialty products)
• Install millwork, casework, doors, frames, hardware, bath accessories, in-wall blocking, exterior sheathing, and insulation
• Exercise proper use of PPE
• Set up and safely use company equipment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Participation in a secondary or post-secondary trade curriculum preferred
• 4+ years of field carpentry experience
• Knowledge and experience working with commercial carpentry tools and building materials
• Understanding of construction safety devices and PPE

Work Environment

Carpenters work indoors and outdoors on various construction projects, exposed to elements like extreme heat, cold, humidity, and noise. Hazards may include proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, toxic chemicals, and uneven surfaces.
