About the role

Schutte Excavating is located in Greensburg, IN. Our company has been steadily growing over the last several years and are looking to expand our workforce. Schutte Excavating’s focus is on Community Development Block Grant Projects, Storm Sewer Projects, General Construction Management, Concrete Construction, Site Development. We travel within a 60-mile radius of Greensburg. Current position we are looking to fill is rough carpenter. This position would encompass the ability to read and interpret blueprint and drawings and determine specific materials and measurements needed for a project. The 3+ years of strong carpentry experience.

Responsibilities

• Comprehending and completing tasks given to you in an efficient manner.
• Rough carpentry skills including cutting and shaping wood using hand and power tools.
• Manual physical labor for 8+ hours a day, lifting 25+ lbs frequently, bending, twisting, etc. and ability to adapt to changing weather conditions.
• Hand digging, raking gravel, setting forms, use of hand tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, staying busy.
• Be safety conscious.

Requirements

• The physical demands of the job may require the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods of time, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Required to hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of strong carpentry experience.

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprint and drawings.
• Manual physical labor skills.
• Use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to adapt to changing weather conditions.

Pay

Rough Carpenter hourly rate depending on experience and references.

Schedule

Typical schedule is Monday - Friday; 7:30 - 4:00 (start and end times may need to vary at times).

Additional Information

We have a Class A CDL requirement but it is not mandatory.
