Carpenter

Responsibilities

• Makes measurements and marks guidelines on working surfaces to prepare for laying down work.
• Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridge, drain structures, walls, and additional structures.
• May assist with installation of awnings, metal decking for concrete slabs (if decking is removed).
• Uses carpenter’s belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and other wood-making machinery.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of verifiable experience.
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly.
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
