Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
Responsibilities
- Setup and operate various machine tools to repair and manufacture mechanical assemblies (horizontal and vertical mills).
- Use measuring devices and techniques correctly to assure proper sizing.
- Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work and/or to observe safety procedures.
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear.
- Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas.
- Understand machine lubrication, maintenance and proper operation.
- Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by lead person, supervisor, plant manager and/or president.
- Read drawings/blueprints.
- Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals.
- Repair equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
- Build up worn or defective surfaces (e.g., welding up shafts so they can be re-machined).
- Use burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut materials.
- Provide own tools and toolbox.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (trade school, vocational/technical school, military, or on-the-job training).
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to understand, perform and retain various job-related training and operational and safety procedures.
- Ability to work well with others in a team effort.
