Rotational Security Officer (1 week on / 1 off, plus Benefits) - FedEx Anchorage

Responsibilities

• Personally monitors assigned areas, including roving inside facilities, roving in a vehicle, and other locations.
• Ensures safety and compliance by observing and reporting on property damage, unusual occurrences, and security issues.
• Verbalizes de-escalation techniques to maintain safety during situations involving employees, customers, and clients.
• Examines and reports on the security of doors, windows, and other areas.
• Warns and apprehends violators of rules and may expel them from the premises.
• Notifies individuals about visitors seeking to meet them.
• Assists in emergency response and disaster management, including fire safety and active shooter protocols.
• Performs routine input or monitoring of safety and life support computer programs.
• Issues and records ID badges and checks various systems for operational status.
• Notifies supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• A valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.
• Pass background check to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.
• Ability to obtain and pay the Alaska Guard License fee of $98.25 prior to beginning work.
• Fluency in English (speaking, understanding, reading, and writing).
• Safety orientation due to the nature of the position.
• Compliance with all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, push, pull, use hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch for 12-hour shifts.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work a rotational week on / week off schedule with 12-hour shifts.
