Room Service Supervisor

Scheduled Weekly Hours

• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
• Shift time: 5:00 am - 1:30 pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

Summary of the Job

Captures the preparation, service, and storage of food for patients. Oversees the Room Service team to achieve departmental objectives. Manages staffing schedules and ensures efficient operation of the line. Directs daily activities of Room Service workers, ensuring patient/customer satisfaction. Tracks staff performance and resolves issues as necessary. Acts as a liaison between departments and Room Service. Communicates effectively with staff and patients, serving as a patient advocate.

Qualifications

• Qualities needed include compassion, flexibility, adaptability, patient/customer focus, and strong work ethics.
• Computer skills or willingness and ability to learn.
• Working knowledge of scheduling and production.
• Ability to learn basic multi-line phone system.
• An ability to work as a team with a variety of different departments/people and willingness to comply with hospital/departmental appearance standards.
• Able to read and follow verbal and written instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Five (5) years Food Service experience or 1 year Food Service Supervision preferred.

Physical Demands

• Must possess good physical health.
• Some requirements include but are not limited to sitting, standing or walking for long periods of time.
• Lifting at least 20 pounds is required.
• Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
• Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) – talking, hearing, seeing; Frequently (34%-66%) – reaching, handling/feeling; Occasionally (1%-33%) – lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, balancing, stooping, crouching.
