Room Attendant - Full Time

About the Role

As a Room Attendant (RA) at Sonesta International Hotels, you will work with the Housekeeping Management Team to clean guest rooms and public spaces, and/or operate in the commercial laundry facility. Your work will ensure total guest satisfaction by adhering to brand time, product, and placement standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest and client interactions following Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Respond to guest complaints and special requests, ensuring corrective action for complete satisfaction.
• Clean and service assigned rooms or areas, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and removing trash. Tasks may also include cleaning kitchens, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, and dishware.
• Notify supervisor upon completion of service so rooms may be sold or occupied.
• Report any room unable to be serviced to the supervisor according to established procedures.
• When assigned to laundry, monitor supplies and equipment, operate washers and dryers, inspect linens for damage, fold and store clean linens, and report damages to the supervisor.
• Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all housekeeping areas.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
• Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Handle lost and found items according to established procedures.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other shifts and departmental management.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Some previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Previous background in the extended stay industry preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred; other languages are beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities are preferred.
• Frequently standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
• Ability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals.
• Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

$18.35 per hour (pay rate outlined follows contract requirements).
