About the Role

The Roofing Production Project Manager is responsible for managing the execution of commercial roofing projects from handoff through completion, with a strong focus on production performance, cost control, scheduling, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role serves as the primary link between estimating, construction management, field operations, and the customer to ensure projects are built safely, on time, and within budget. The Production Project Manager oversees project documentation, permits, submittals, billing, change orders, warranties, and closeout while providing direction and support to Construction Managers and field leadership. This position monitors job costs, labor productivity, material usage, and risk throughout the project lifecycle, proactively addressing issues that could impact schedule, margin, or quality.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and schedule the activities of construction managers and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
  • Serve as liaison with building owners to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure projects are built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent the company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect the company’s interest while maintaining good client relationships.
  • Oversee the total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule, including interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, union officials, subcontractors, and security.
  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to; interpret policies as required.
  • Maintain official project logs and documentation files.
  • Assist with the implementation and interpretation of safety programs.
  • Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required.
  • Review contracts to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Develop and send out bid requests to engineers, subcontractors, and vendors; evaluate responses to award contracts based on price, value, experience, and customer service.
  • Review engineering drawings to ensure proper system design meets customers’ needs and contract deliverables.
  • Facilitate weekly project meetings and track action items.
  • Conduct risk planning and mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial roofing projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Successful pre-employment drug screening.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders up to 60 ft tall.
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs or more.
  • Successful background check.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and high level of self-motivation.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Participation in local community, non-profit, or governmental activities for business development and personal improvement.
