Roof Truss Team Leader
Team Leader
Reports to: Area Coordinator/ Production Manager
Responsible for: Production Teams in the Truss department.
Delegates to: Team Leaders in the Truss department.
Cooperates with: Quality assurance, Purchasing, Maintenance, Sales, Continuous Improvement Coordinator, Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHS Manager), Team Leaders
General Expectations
Utilize leadership abilities to ensure smooth production within the specified area of the facility. The Team Leader (TL), utilizes their leadership ability to demonstrate proper protocol and techniques within their work area. They also ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and specifications. The TL is responsible for leading the flow and operation of their assigned area or department which includes but is Not Limited To:
- Organizing and providing production specifications to all team members.
- Congducting and leading Toolbox Meetings.
- Ensuring smooth operation and flow of their assigned production area including coverage of team members for all job duties.
- Leadership by communication and adherence of company policies and rules.
Specific Duties
- Provide direction to team members within the assigned area of the production facility.
- Provide additional support for all TMs of the assigned area.
- Help ensure smooth operation by problems solving for any issues that arise throughout the day.
- Partner with Area Coordinators and TMs to ensure all duties within the production line are properly covered and staffed.
- If any TMs are out for the day, due to attendance, ensure proper coverage has been assigned to continue smooth production.
- Partner with the AC to ensure all raw materials, tools and machinery are in place for all TMs of their designated production area.
- Maintains a watchful eye for any safety hazards and partners with the EHS manager for all reported safety hazards within the facility.
- Provide routine updates on vital information to the Area Coordinator to report on to the Production Manager and General Manager.
- Keep a vigilant eye on assigned production area to ensure a safe and clean work environment for all TMs.
- Carry out end of shift/day clean up procedures, such as cleaning and servicing of work stations and equipment.
- Complete end of day follow-up procedures with the Area Coordinator to ensure all Team Members have been accounted for and all safety hazards have been addressed. (Additional Specific duties as applicable for assigned departments)
Requirements
- Experience in a management role is preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical and reasoning skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to get along with diverse personalities.
- Able to function in a fast paced environment.
- Able to push, pull, bend, and lift at least 50lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Other physical duties, as needed.
