Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, precision-driven Clamp Truck Operator to anchor our material handling and roll stock operations. In this role, you won't just move paper, you will optimize warehouse flow, manage high-value roll stock inventory with zero-damage efficiency, and serve as a critical link in keeping our high-speed corrugator running at peak performance. Key Responsibilities
- Precision Operation: Expertly operate clamp trucks and heavy-duty forklifts to transport, stack, and stage massive paper rolls safely and efficiently.
- Inventory & Schedule Optimization: Read and interpret corrugator lineups fluidly. Adhere to the daily production schedule while proactively recommending adjustments to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
- Smart Stock Management: Strategic staging of rolls to the corrugator (prioritizing buttrolls), accurately recording inventory movement, and meticulously grading/marking returning stock (size, diameter, lineal footage).
- Inbound Logistics & Quality Control: Unload incoming trailers, expertly inspecting rolls for physical damage and documenting discrepancies to protect product integrity.
- Warehouse Leadership: Maintain a highly organized, clean, and audit-ready warehouse layout to maximize space utilization and operational speed.
- Equipment Stewardship: Conduct thorough pre-shift inspections, identifying and submitting detailed maintenance work orders to minimize equipment downtime.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Assist in the training of doublebacker and dry-end personnel, sharing your expertise to elevate team safety and efficiency.
- Safety & Compliance: Serve as a champion for plant safety, maintaining full compliance with company policies, MSDS protocols, and emergency chemical spill procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proven Expertise: Demonstrated, hands-on experience safely operating clamp trucks and forklifts in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or paper/corrugated environment (highly preferred).
- Technical Savvy: Strong understanding of roll stock management, inventory tracking, and corrugator production flows.
- Leadership Traits: A proactive problem-solver who can work autonomously, guide junior team members, and interface effectively with corrugator supervisors.
- Fast-Paced Resilience: Proven ability to manage competing priorities calmly and safely in a high-volume, continuous manufacturing environment.
