Roll Clamp Truck Operator 2nd Shift

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, precision-driven Clamp Truck Operator to anchor our material handling and roll stock operations. In this role, you will optimize warehouse flow, manage high-value roll stock inventory with zero-damage efficiency, and serve as a critical link in keeping our high-speed corrugator running at peak performance. Shift: 2nd Shift (3PM - 11PM)
Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Expertly operate clamp trucks and heavy-duty forklifts to transport, stack, and stage massive paper rolls safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret corrugator lineups fluidly. Adhere to the daily production schedule while proactively recommending adjustments to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
• Strategically stage rolls to the corrugator (prioritizing buttrolls), accurately record inventory movement, and meticulously grade/mark returning stock (size, diameter, lineal footage).
• Unload incoming trailers, expertly inspect rolls for physical damage, and document discrepancies to protect product integrity.
• Maintain a highly organized, clean, and audit-ready warehouse layout to maximize space utilization and operational speed.
• Conduct thorough pre-shift inspections, identifying and submitting detailed maintenance work orders to minimize equipment downtime.
• Assist in the training of doublebacker and dry-end personnel, sharing your expertise to elevate team safety and efficiency.
• Serve as a champion for plant safety, maintaining full compliance with company policies, MSDS protocols, and emergency chemical spill procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated, hands-on experience safely operating clamp trucks and forklifts in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or paper/corrugated environment (highly preferred).
• Strong understanding of roll stock management, inventory tracking, and corrugator production flows.
• A proactive problem-solver who can work autonomously, guide junior team members, and interface effectively with corrugator supervisors.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities calmly and safely in a high-volume, continuous manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Physical Demands: This role requires active, hands-on engagement. Operators are regularly required to stand, walk, climb in/out of equipment, and use hands/arms to manipulate controls and tools. Frequent stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be required. Must possess excellent spatial awareness, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: You will operate in a dynamic, high-energy industrial manufacturing plant. Expect regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, varying humidity/temperatures, and loud noise levels. Safety gear (PPE) is strictly required and provided.
