About the role
The H-E-B Store Department Lead role involves leading a well-stocked, well-maintained department, providing superior customer service, and performing supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- May serve as backup to Department Manager and typically works opposite shift to Manager
- Helps prepare department work schedules
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws
- Aids in inventory control; loads, unloads, and moves product
- Trains Partners; directs work; addresses complaints; resolves issues; builds / follows up on production plans and their execution
- Aids in all technical areas, as needed
- Performs Representative / Specialist duties frequently
- Provides / coaches on superior customer service
- Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answers customer questions regarding products; assists them with selections
- Uses suggestive selling techniques and advanced product knowledge and experience to meet customer needs and build department sales

Requirements
- Age Requirement: 18+
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Work Experience, Education, Communication and interpersonal skills, Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Work Experience: Expert knowledge of department production stations, including quality standards, set-up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment
- Education: Associate's degree (AA), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or 6+ months of related experience and / or training, or combination of equivalent education / training
- Licenses/Certifications: Completion of Company Orientation, food safety and sanitation training, and eCommerce Online Ordering training
