About the Role
The Robotics Test Technician supports the deployment, operation, and optimization of robotic floor-cleaning systems at both customer and KBS locations. This hands-on role involves configuring robots, performing robot testing, training cleaning teams, troubleshooting technical issues, and monitoring daily performance to ensure high operational standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and comfortable working in dynamic environments. Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish is required, and experience in commercial cleaning or robotics is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and robot evaluations onsite in the KBS office in Dallas, TX
- Assist operations team with setup and validation of robotic floor scrubber and/or vacuums, including onsite mapping, scheduling, and troubleshooting
- Assist in training cleaning staff and site teams on proper robot operation, safety protocols, and general troubleshooting
- Support Zone Managers and Supervisors with deployment and integration at customer locations, ensuring robots are correctly configured and tested
- Observe and monitor robot performance during real-time operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with cleaning protocols
- Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate any mechanical or software issues that arise
- Provide feedback using site-specific observations to enhance cleaning protocols
- Document test observations, metrics, and evaluation scores using KBS's standardized testing templates and tracking tools, ensuring consistency across sites and testers
- Conduct routine maintenance checks, software updates, and hardware inspections to ensure consistent uptime
- Support post-deployment follow-up as needed including map refinements, additional training needs, and performance optimization
- Serve as Robotics Field User Subject Matter Expert
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in a technical role required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
- Experience in commercial cleaning and knowledge of cleaning protocols and equipment
- Experience supporting retail cleaning operations in high-traffic environments
- Experience with robotics or automated systems is a plus

Schedule
- This role supports our on-site cleaning teams, so schedules are variable and may include various shifts; day and overnights
- There may be a need for on-call support outside of regular working hours to address urgent issues and/or critical incidents

- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, or crouch for extended periods
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs (tools, robot components, packaging, etc.)
- Manual dexterity to operate tools, devices, and robot interfaces
- Ability to speak clearly (use of voice)
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, moderate peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Environment
- Work will primarily take place in KBS offices and customer environments such as major grocery chains, department stores, and office complexes
- Lighting varies based on building requirements and may be adjusted within reason
- Time constraints and related pressures to complete work are high
Travel
- Up to 60% daily within your assigned region
- Occasional travel outside of your home area may be required based on business needs
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Pay
The base hourly pay range represents the minimum and maximum of the pay range for this position. Actual placement within this range will vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, and geographic location. Hourly rates may vary based upon state/local minimum wage restrictions. Final hourly rate of pay will be discussed and determined during the hiring process. Hourly employees will be eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable law and KBS policy.
