About the Role

Vallen's Integrated Supply Kitting Technician is an hourly position integrated within a customer's location. The role is responsible for assembling all necessary parts, tools, and instructions for specific repair or maintenance tasks into a single kit, streamlining the process and reducing downtime. The primary goal is to ensure that all required items are readily available when a maintenance or repair task needs to be performed.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock for kitting operations.
  • Assemble kits by gathering all identified items and organizing them into suitable packaging (e.g., boxes or containers).
  • Stage kits in a designated area, easily accessible for maintenance personnel.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Communicate with customers and company management to address questions and concerns.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and management to implement process improvement changes.
  • Interface with ERP software systems.
  • Perform other work/duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a supply chain environment or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Desire and ability to learn kitting processes and inventory management software.
  • Strong ability to develop and cultivate customer relationships.
  • Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated knowledge of recognizing manufacturing applications.
  • Proficiency with MS-Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the technical aptitude to learn company-specific programs and software applications.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with team members, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems, and other relevant software is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in dusty conditions.
  • May be required to handle hazardous materials and wear protective equipment (e.g., shoes, gloves, protective eyewear).
  • May be required to pass forklift and/or other warehouse equipment certifications (written and/or driving).
  • Assigned work shifts may vary and/or rotate.
  • Overtime may be required; extended day, evening, and weekend work may be required with little or no advanced notice.
  • Must be able to handle and work physical inventory; required to lift up to 25 lbs. or greater with assistance following standard operating and safety procedures.
  • Other physical requirements include regularly standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required.
