Overview Rex.zone connects mid-senior engineers with full-time remote robotics roles building real-world robotic systems and automation workflows. You will design and integrate robot software and hardware, improve autonomy performance using simulation and testing, and deliver reliable behaviors from prototype through production deployments. Key Responsibilities Design and implement ROS/ROS2 software modules (nodes, drivers, pipelines)Integrate sensors and actuators (LiDAR, cameras, IMU, encoders) and validate data flowsDevelop motion planning, navigation, obstacle avoidance, and trajectory trackingImplement localization, mapping, and SLAM with sensor fusionTune control loops and closed-loop autonomy performance with measurable metricsCreate simulation scenarios in Gazebo/Isaac Sim and validate with real-world logsBuild automated tests, CI pipelines, and regression benchmarks for autonomy behaviorsImprove reliability with diagnostics, telemetry, fault handling, and recovery strategiesDocument interfaces, calibration procedures, and operating guidelines for remote teamsCollaborate cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, QA, and (when relevant) AI/ML teams Required Qualifications Mid-senior experience delivering robotic systems from prototype to deploymentStrong C++ and Python for robotics pipelinesHands-on ROS/ROS2 development (TF, messages, launch, parameters)Knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, state estimation, and control systemsExperience debugging real-time systems using logs, bag files, and profilingLinux, networking, and hardware integration experience Preferred Experience with Nav2/MoveIt, embedded constraints, and edge deployment (e.g., Jetson)Safety/validation mindset (fail-safe behaviors, scenario coverage, QA practices)Industrial robotics, mobile autonomy (AMRs/AGVs), or manipulation experience Compensation Competitive hourly rate: $30–$50/hr (depending on experience and scope). How To Apply Submit your resume and a short robotics portfolio (GitHub, demos, papers, or technical write-ups). Highlight ROS/ROS2 packages you owned, sensors integrated, autonomy features delivered, and validation results in simulation and real deployments.
